Can you imagine laying out your greatest space concerns for brainstorming ideas, gaining consensus,
evaluating options and actually arriving at a direction for solution? I know, hard to imagine. Let me
introduce you to “I-Cubed” (I3 to be mathematically correct), which stands for Imagine, Imprint and Impact.
Imagine what your library could be, identify elements and Imprint them in a layout, Impact the way your
customers and staff experience the library just the way you have imagined it.
We accomplish this through a design charette…an intensive day or half-day session with you, your staff
and the two of us. With just a little preparatory work on your part (mostly identifying the challenge to be
addressed and the stakeholders), we facilitate a process that will include sharing with you what other
libraries are doing that applies to your challenge, listening to you tell us what you need and want, and
then creating options and a solution at the end of the day.
The Ruby M. Sisson Public Library in Pagosa Springs posed a challenge to create a meeting room within the existing library with a minimum of cost , and to rearrange the collections and public spaces to be more functional and inviting. We share with you our low-cost solutions!
